Business leaders and industrialists from Afghanistan’s Balkh province and Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh province convened a joint economic meeting in Mazar-i-Sharif to bolster bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Officials from the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment stated that the discussions centered on deepening trade ties, increasing commercial exchange volumes, expanding economic partnerships, and fostering new opportunities for private-sector investment.
Bahrom Yusupov, Deputy Governor of Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh province, noted that the delegation’s visit was aimed at further cementing relations between the two countries and broadening their mutual economic agenda.
During the session, representatives from both sides underscored the need to boost commerce, encourage joint ventures, and fully leverage the two nations’ untapped economic and commercial potential.
The Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment further announced that the respective chambers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the gathering.
This engagement follows similar prior trade and economic meetings between Afghan businesspeople and delegations from Uzbekistan’s Surkhandarya and Namangan provinces.
