Local officials in Panjshir Province have announced the start of several development projects in the provincial capital and various districts. Valued at $4.5 million, the initiatives aim to improve infrastructure and enhance the delivery of public services throughout the province.
Saifuddin Laton, spokesman for the governor of Panjshir, stated that the projects—funded by the Dacaar organization—will be carried out across 126 villages, including the provincial capital Bazarak, as well as the districts of Anaba, Rukha, and Hesa-e-Awal Panjshir.
According to him, the projects include the construction of retaining walls, paving of rural roads, development of drinking water networks, and the building of irrigation canals in the targeted areas.
Attaullah Noori, project manager at the Daccar organization, noted that these initiatives are being implemented under the framework of the CASA-1000 project to develop essential infrastructure. He added that, alongside these efforts, a cash-for-work program will also be launched to provide employment opportunities for vulnerable families.
It is worth noting that these projects are designed for a two-year period and will be carried out in collaboration with the Dacaar organization and UNICEF.
