Security officials in Paktia say that Pakistani military forces carried out airstrikes on civilian areas in the Mandakhel area of Chamkani district, Paktia province. According to the officials, more than 35 people were killed and around 200 others were injured.
Local residents said that the home of a civilian identified as Bismillah Jan was directly targeted. They added that when people rushed to the scene to rescue the victims, a second strike hit the same location, causing additional casualties.
Meanwhile, in the Giyan district of Paktika province, Pakistani airstrikes reportedly killed six members of a single family, including women and children.
Separately, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), Zabihullah Mujahid, strongly condemned the overnight Pakistani airstrikes on parts of Giyan district in Paktika, Chamkani district in Paktia, and Manogai district in Kunar. He described the attacks as “a crime and an act of brutality,” saying that civilians were deliberately targeted. According to Mujahid, the strikes caused dozens of casualties, including women and children.
