Sputnik news agency has reported that a number of Afghan migrants have been deported from Tajikistan due to violations of the law. Tajikistan’s National Security Committee said the individuals had seriously violated the country’s laws despite having access to suitable living, working, and educational conditions. Tajik authorities emphasized that more than ten thousand Afghan families continue to live normally in the country. Migrant rights activists say the issue of migrants should not be politicized and criminal responsibility should be considered individual, not collective. Meanwhile, migration experts warn that increasing restrictions on Afghan migrants in regional countries have raised concerns about their future.
