Mujeeb-ur-Rahman Omar Akhundzada, Deputy Minister of Water, met with Gaziz Akbasov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Kabul, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the water and energy sectors.
According to Bakhtar News Agency, quoting a ministry statement, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in water resource management, energy development, and the exchange of technical expertise.
The Deputy Minister underscored the importance of maximizing existing capacities and expressed Afghanistan’s readiness to broaden joint efforts, drawing on Kazakhstan’s experience in water and electricity sectors.
He highlighted the role of regional cooperation in better water resource management and sustainable energy development, noting favorable conditions for foreign investment in Afghanistan’s water and energy projects.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan expressed appreciation for the growth of Afghanistan–Kazakhstan relations and reiterated his country’s willingness to invest in water and energy projects. He also pointed to the potential for expanding scientific and technical collaboration between the two countries.
