Mawlavi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Culture, met with Japanese Ambassador to Kabul, Masamoto Kenichi, to discuss cultural cooperation and the protection of historical heritage.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Azizi praised Japan’s ongoing efforts and assistance in preserving and reconstructing Afghanistan’s ancient cultural and historical monuments. He emphasized that this support is invaluable for protecting the country’s rich cultural heritage.
Ambassador Kenichi praised the Islamic Emirate’s significant efforts in protecting historical heritage, noting that Afghanistan’s ancient civilization holds international importance. He stated that the responsibility for protecting historical sites and monuments extends beyond the Afghanistan’s government to the global community.
The ambassador also commended the Islamic Emirate’s success in combating drug trafficking and corruption, as well as in efforts to prevent the smuggling of historical artifacts.
In conclusion, both officials underscored the importance of strengthening cultural relations and continuing collaborative efforts between Afghanistan and Japan.
