Mufti Mohammadur Rahman, Chargé d’Affaires of Afghanistan’s Embassy in Kazakhstan, met with Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), at the organization’s headquarters.
The Embassy of Afghanistan in Kazakhstan announced that the two sides discussed and exchanged views on Afghanistan’s permanent membership in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), increasing Afghanistan’s active participation in the organization’s meetings, Afghanistan’s important role in developments in Asia and the region, and areas of mutual cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed support for Afghan farmers in promoting alternative crops to replace narcotics cultivation through the provision of improved seeds and chemical fertilizers, establishing short-term training programs for Afghan government employees, and other issues of mutual interest.
The Embassy of Afghanistan in Kazakhstan stated that the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen engagement with regional organizations and create further opportunities for cooperation between Afghanistan and CICA.
