A factory for the production of rickshaws and electric motorcycles has been inaugurated in Herat Province with an investment of 10 million US dollars.
Gul Mohammad Ahrari, the factory’s sales manager, told Bakhtar News Agency that the plant has been established in the Herat Industrial Park for the purpose of vehicle production and assembly. He added that around 100 employees are currently working in different sections of the factory.
According to Ahrari, the factory produces dozens of different types of electric motorcycles and rickshaws on a daily basis, which are characterized by low energy consumption and high quality.
Nasir Amin, head of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, said that support for industrialists has played a vital role in the growth of the country’s industries, noting that machine production in the industrial park has also advanced.
Meanwhile, Mawlawi Abdul Ali Muttaqi, head of Herat’s Environmental Protection Department, urged industrialists to consider environmental protection alongside production, describing the manufacturing of electric vehicles as highly valuable for preserving the environment.
The factory’s management further stated that they plan to begin the production of electric cars in the future in order to bring more positive changes towards a green economy and a cleaner environment across the country.
