Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, met today, Wednesday with Mirwais Azizi, CEO of Azizi Energy Group, along with his technical team.
In the meeting, Azizi shared a progress report on the ambitious 10,000 megawatt electricity project. Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding, Azizi dispatched teams with representatives from relevant ministries to conduct initial surveys in Baghlan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Herat, and Bamyan provinces, gathering essential technical information.
The project is divided into three phases, with the first phase set to generate 4,000 megawatts of electricity. Officials from Azizi Energy Group confirmed that practical work will commence soon in collaboration with the relevant ministries and departments.
Azizi also outlined his requests to the Deputy Prime Minister, who assured full cooperation in addressing these needs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mullah Baradar Akhund established a joint committee comprising representatives from the ministries, relevant departments, and Azizi Energy Group.
