Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry said on Tuesday it will not allow anyone to bar police from operating in their duty areas.
“Henceforth, the Interior Ministry will not allow any criminal and law-breaking individual or group to prevent police from carrying out their tasks in their duty areas, and resort to arbitrary action by using military uniform, arms, equipment and vehicles,” the ministry said in a notice.
The ministry instructed police authorities across the country to back police personnel as they perform their duties, and take legal action against those who resist police.
