The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says less than two-thirds of babies in Afghanistan are exclusively breastfed for the first six months.
On Saturday UNICEF said on X that, it is trying to change this process with the cooperation of the European Union.
According to UNICEF, they are launching programs through nutrition counseling for mothers, focusing on when and how to breastfeed, so that children have the best possible start in life.
UNICEF emphasizes that after six months, breast milk is not enough and children need complementary foods such as fruits, vegetables and grains.
UNICEF and the World Health Organization has in the past said that 52 percent of babies worldwide are not fed healthy milk.
