Today: 254 New Cases of COVID-19 from 682 Tested

The Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday reported 254 new positive cases of the coronavirus from 682 samples tested over the last 24 hours.

So far, 81,934 samples have been tested in the government’s testing centers and there are 11,444 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the Ministry of Public Health.

In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported 32 new deaths from COVID-19 and 1,002 recoveries.

The number of total cases is now 34,994, the total reported deaths are 1,094, and total recoveries is 22,456.

The highest count was reported in Kabul with 78, followed by Daikundi with 61–other cases were reported in Takhar (18), Herat (6), Kandahar (3), Balkh (10), Paktia (18), Nangarhar (3), Badghis (11), Logar (9), Badakhshan (11), Wardak (1), Laghman (4) and Ghor (15).

Also, the ministry reported 20 COVID-19 deaths in Kabul, seven in Farah, three in Herat and two in Nangarhar.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 578,628 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 13,323,530, according to Johns Hopkins University.
