A Taliban delegation, led by their Qatar political office head Mullah Abdul Baradar Akhund, has attended an Ulema conference in Jakarta, the group said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Taliban said their delegation took part in the joint conference of Ulema, experts and academicians from Indonesia.
The statement said at the conference, Baradar and his colleagues discussed the ongoing situation in Afghanistan and the group’s achievements.
Other participants of the conference also shared their views, the Taliban statement said, without providing further details.
Jakarta is also set to host a second trilateral conference of religious scholars from Indonesia, Afghanistan and Pakistan next month.
