A suicide car bomber detonated his explosives close to a public protection unit in Ghazni on Sunday morning, a spokesman for provincial governor Wahidullah Jumazada confirmed.
The incident happened in PD3 of Ghazni city on Sunday morning, Jumazada, said, adding that no reports of casualties are available yet.
In the meantime, a security source said that the bomber detonated “a Humvee vehicle which was full of explosives.”
At least 23 people were killed and 16 others were wounded in the attack, said a member of the provincial council.
Army commandos were also based at the compound, according to the security sources.
Noo group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
