At least seven border police force members were killed in a clash with Taliban militants in Spin Boldak district in Kandahar province, the provincial media office said in a statement on Saturday.
The statement said Taliban attacked a security outpost of the border forces in Nawa village in Spin Boldak district, which is located along the Durand Line.
Four other soldiers were wounded in the clash, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the statement said 16 Taliban fighters were killed and 11 others were wounded in the clash.
However, sources said that the clash left 18 soldier dead.
Taliban has not commented on the report so far.
