Despite constant criticism from opposition leaders regarding changes in the government, President Ashraf Ghani appointed new Chief of Staff and spokesperson for the presidential palace.
On Sunday, the president hired Dr. Faizullah Kakar as his Chief of Staff and Seddiq Seddiqi as his spokesman.
Born in the solar year 1329 in Faryab province, Kakar received a bachelor’s degree in Biology in the United States and did his master’s in Toxicology from the Indiana University.
He earned a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington. Kakar has served as Afghan ambassador to Qatar. He has also been deputy minister of public health.
Mr. Sediqi has previously served as the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior of Afghanistan.
Furthermore, Mr. Sediqi has also served as the Director of the Media and Information Center of the Government of Afghanistan (GMIC).
