Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi arrived in Kabul on Thursday for talks with officials of the Islamic Emirate, officials confirmed to TOLOnews.
Qureshi met with PM Mullah Mohmmad Hasan Akhund in Kabul, Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan said. “Bilateral talks underway in presence of leading Afghan Ministers for facilitating people to people interaction, trade, transit and connectivity between two brotherly nations,” he said.
Zabihullah Mujahid, deputy minister for the Ministry of Information and Culture, said Qureshi and his accompanying delegation will hold talks with Islamic Emirate officials on a range of issues including bilateral relations, trade and problems at crossings between the two countries.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry also said Qureshi and his accompanying delegation in their one-day visit will hold talks with Islamic Emirate officials on bilateral relations and cooperation in various areas.
According to the Pakistan Foreign Ministry statement, Qureshi will meet the Islamic Emirate’s acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and other officials.
