Over 100,000 Visit Badakhshan in Past Year: Officials

In the past year, more than 100,000 domestic and foreign tourists have visited the scenic and historical sites of Badakhshan province.

Officials attribute this increase to the region’s lasting security, beautiful nature, and favorable climate.

“Over 100 domestic tourists came to Badakhshan and visited the historical sites of the province, especially Chaqmaqtin Lake in Pamir. The number of domestic tourists from neighboring provinces also exceeds one hundred thousand,” said Zabihullah Amiri, head of the information and culture department in Badakhshan.

Even in autumn, Badakhshan, with its beautiful nature and pleasant weather, attracts dozens of visitors from different parts of the country.

Some domestic tourists, noting the challenging road conditions, are calling for greater accessibility to these sites.

“Because of the poor road conditions, people are afraid to come here, fearing flat tires. If the road is repaired, many more people will visit,” said Abdullah, a resident of Laghman.

“We came from Kabul for leisure. It’s truly exciting that our country has such places. You should come for a visit too,” Another resident of Kabul added.

” We came from Kabul for fun, it’s a great pleasure that there are such places in our homeland. You can come for fun too,” said Sayedagul Stanakzai, a resident of Laghman.

Badakhshan, a province in the northeast of the country, has many tourist sites.

According to the Information and Culture Department of Badakhshan, more than 500 tourist sites have been registered with the department to date.
