At least 10 civilians were killed on Monday morning after a mortar shell landed in a busy market in Sangin district in the southern province of Helmand, residents said.
Officials have confirmed the attack but have not provided details.
This comes a day after at least six civilians were killed as their car hit a roadside bomb blast in another district of Helmand, Washir, on Sunday.
