One person was killed and another was wounded in an armed attack on a vehicle carrying security guards of the deputy head of the Senate’s secretariat in Kabul on Saturday evening, a source said.
The incident happened in Qala-e-Kashif area in Kabul’s district 5 in which the driver of the Senate official was killed and his security guard was wounded, the source said, blaming the Taliban for the attack.
Kabul police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz said the attack was followed by a gunfight between police and the attackers in which one of the gunmen was killed and another was wounded.
Two police force members were also wounded in the clash, he said.
The Taliban has not commented on the attack.
