No regret for decision of NUG formation: Abdullah

The Chief Executive of the National Unity Government Abdullah Abdullah says he is not regretting his decision for the formation of the National Unity Government.
The Office of the Chief Executive in a statement said Mr. Abdullah made the remarks during a meeting with the members of Haqeeqat Group.
The members of the group shared their issues and recommendations during the meeting with Abdullah and urged that the government should take necessary steps to resolve the issues of unemployment, drugs and human smuggling, corruption, and injustice.
They also emphasized on a fair and free election and asked the government leaders to prevent interferences in the upcoming elections.
In his turn, Abdullah thanked the members of the group for their efforts for the stability and development of the country and empowerment of unity among the people.
Abdullah said he is hopeful that the upcoming elections are organized in a transparent way as he emphasized that the government has resolve to organize the elections.
Pointing towards the previous elections, Abdullah said the situation was different then and he is not regretting for his decision for the formation of the national unity government, insisting that the decision helped to prevent the country from descending into chaos and destruction.
Admitting that the government had shortfalls in ensuring security and resolving the issue of unemployment, Abdullah said the government of national unity also had some achievements.
He promised to consider the recommendations of the group and would instruct the relevant authorities to take necessary steps to resolve the existing issues.
