Grand Alliance of Youth and Candidates of Kabul District Councils on Tuesday announced its presence and demanded greater role for youth in the affairs of the country and conduct of district council elections.
Qader Shah Qureshi, deputy head of the alliance, told the gathering in which over 200 people were present that the alliance may be expanded to other parts of the country.
“The purpose of this alliance is to bring talented and qualified youth to a single platform and advocate for youth and district councils candidates in their future endeavors,” he said.
He added according to statistics over 65 percent population of the country was comprised of youth but their role in political, economic, cultural and development sectors was invisible.
He said the alliance was currently active in capital Kabul and would be soon expanded to other parts of the country.
