Senior advisor to the ministry of energy and water Farooq Azam says the country has sufficient water for itself and if water is managed properly neighboring countries will need Afghanistan.

Speaking at an event in Kabul under the theme “Future Economic Development of Afghanistan”, which was attended by a number of Islamic Emirate’s officials and foreign guests, Azam said that the ground should be provided for private investment in water management.

“We ourselves are self-sufficient if we have mental self-sufficiency. We have minerals, we have treasury, we have water, we have enough water that if managed, all our neighbors will need us,” said Azam.

Meanwhile, deputy foreign minister for political affairs Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai said at the event, that it is not possible for the country to progress without the acquisition of science and knowledge, and for this purpose education must be provided for everyone.

“Education is the natural and religious right of every man and woman, and no one can deny this, and we believe that no country can progress without science and without education,” said Stanikzai.

“Today, the countries that are in our neighborhood or in the region, or in the west and east, the progress they have made in each sector is the blessing of science and education,” he stressed.
