The education director of western Ghor province, who was beaten by workers of his department, on Sunday asked the government to bring the attackers to justice.
A day earlier, 10 employees of the education department, along with some unidentified men, assaulted Director Khalil Ahmad Mubarez inside his office. He was beaten severely.
Mubarez, having sustained face and head injuries, said in an exclusive talk with Pajhwok Afghan News the attackers should be dragged to the court and that he should be given justice.
He claimed the people who attacked him had links with lawmaker Karamuddin Rezazada and Deputy Director of Education Fazal Haq Nejat. He alleged the duo had instigated the attackers.
Abdul Hai Khatibi, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok that those involved in assaulting the education director had been arrested by police and referred to the attorney office.
However, Rezazada and Nejat rejected Mubarez’s allegations and said the education director was beaten up by his own employees and they had no idea how the incident occurred.
