A son of prominent Afghan politician Mohammad Mohaqiq has killed his brother Baqir Mohaqiq, the politician’s aide told 1TV on Sunday.
Baqir was shot in his head by Hussain Mohaqiq while he was sleeping in their home in Kabul, the politician’s secretary Sekandary said.
When servants and guards reacted, Hussain injured four of them, he said.
Special units of Afghan forces arrived at the scene and shot Hussain at his let. He was taken to hospital later, he said.
Sekandary said that Hussain was suffering from mental illness.
The Interior Ministry said that the two brothers clashed with each other around 9:30a.m. Sunday, as a result of which Baqir was killed while five guards were injured. Hussain was also injured, it said.
