Afghanistan’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said on Monday it had referred three corruption cases to the Attorney General’s Office.
Sher Shah Nawabi, an adviser for the ministry, said at a press conference that the cases cover more than 20 million afghanis.
He explained that once case was related to internet project NEXA 2 costing 15 million afghanis.
He said that the contract for the project was awarded to a specific company without a real bidding process.
The other two cases are about attempt to illegally sell 20,000 Salaam SIM cards and NEXA 1 internet project.
The cases involve five employees of the ministry including three directors.
Nawabi urged AGO to immediately begin probe over the cases.
