Pakistan’s Awami National Party’s (ANP) Senior Member Afrasyab Khattak has asked the Pakistani government to give explanation regarding the Pakistani national killed in Ghazni clashes.
The Taliban on Friday stormed Ghazni City, the capital of southern Ghazni province and captured many areas, but Afghan defense officials said security forces beaten back the Taliban attack.
Around 500 people, including security forces and civilians suffered casualties during the clashes.
Khattack in a tweet demanded the clarification of Pakistan’s policy regarding Afghanistan and wonder if the previous polices were still being implemented.
“Pak gov’t needs to explain reports about the dead bodies of Pakistanis coming in from the war in Ghazni and Pak fighters getting arrested. Is it the repetition of the Jalalabad fiasco in 1989? Pak Afghan Policy is an unmitigated disaster. CHNGE IT,” he said.
Defense Minister Tariq Shah Bahrami on Monday told reporters that support from the neighboring countries led to the debacle of Ghazni. He, however, did not name any country by its name.
