Kabul citizens warned over lockdown violation

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Saturday warned if people did not practice the lockdown plan in capital Kabul, they will face reaction from security forces.

A day earlier, the Cabinet approved strategy to impose certain restrictions on public movement in capital Kabul.

Waheed Umar, presidential advisor in public and strategic communication, on his twitter wrote that the Cabinet approved strategy of partial lockdown in Kabul and details in this regard would be shared later.

Earlier, Kabul governor recommended quarantine strategy of capital Kabul through which certain restrictions shall be imposed on the city to stop the spread of coronavirus.

WahidullahMayar, spokesman for MoPH, told Pajhwok that people should cooperate with them and not travel without an emergency. He said, “Today was the first day of the lockdown, but people will face security forces’ strong reaction in case they violate the lockdown.”

According to him, 1020 suspected cases of COVID19 have been registered in 30 provinces and the tally of positive cases has reached 110, including four NATO members in Afghanistan.

He said in case of need all education centers and religious places would be used for treatment of coronavirus patients in the country.
