Iran arrests armed drug smugglers from Afghanistan

Iranian media reported that a group of armed drug smugglers who entered Iran from Afghanistan have been arrested.

Reports indicate weapons were also seized during the arrest.

The Islamic Republic News Agency, IRNA, reported on Wednesday that these people were identified in a military operation.

According to reports, during the operation, a property used to store the drugs and weapons was discovered near Kerman.

IRNA reported that drugs seized included 461 kgs of opium, 106 kgs of cannabis and 57 kgs of Shesha along with a 14.5mm cannon, an RPG, two RPG rockets and 936 shells were seized.
