New Delhi will host a conference on Wednesday for national security advisors from regional countries to discuss the ongoing situation in Afghanistan following the fall of the former government.

Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Iran are set to participate in the conference. No delegation from Afghanistan was invited. According to reports, China and Pakistan said they will not attend the conference.

Kabul expressed hopes that the conference will bring results that benefit Afghanistan.

“The Islamic Emirate is not concerned by such meetings, and hopes that it would facilitate the provision of assistance to Afghanistan. Also, the Islamic Emirate believes that its delegation will be present in such meetings in the future,” said Inamullah Samangani, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.

Earlier, Moscow and Tehran hosted regional meetings on the Afghan situation.

“The Indian meeting will not be beneficial because China and Pakistan are not participating,” said Latif Nazari, a political analyst.

The experts say that India is looking forward to assessing the stance of regional countries regarding the “Taliban.”

“India as a friend of Afghanistan wants to assess opinions to clarify the regional consensus on Afghanistan and countries that are major powers,” said Shukria Barakzai, former Afghan ambassador to Norway.

The participants in the Moscow conference stressed the need to form an inclusive government in Afghanistan and for regional security.
