New Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan takes over

The new ambassador of Peoples’ Republic of China to Afghanistan, Liu Jinsong, has officially assumed his duties in Kabul. Presidential palace of Afghanistan said in a statement that President Ghani accepted Mr. Liu’s credential on Monday in a ceremony held in Arg.

The statement further added that president Ghani wished Mr. Liu success in his new job, stressing that China is Afghanistan’s all weather friend and thanked the country for its assistance to Afghanistan in the past. According to the statement, president Ghani hoped that the two countries would further strengthen relations during Mr. Liu’s mission in Kabul. 

The new ambassador said his country would continue to stand with the government and people of Afghanistan as a partner and pledged to spare no efforts in further improving of relations between the two countries.
