A group of gunmen–reportedly three in total–entered the Kabul University on Monday morning, sources said.
Sources said the gunfight near the Kabul University happened when Afghan and Iranian officials were inaugurating a book exhibition at the university.
According to sources, six people were wounded.
Many students left the compound sharply after they were informed about the gunmen, a student said.
Police said security forces were deployed to the attack scene.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
