Floods leave 33 dead, 27 injured in past month

Afghanistan’s State Ministry for Disaster Management says at least 33 people died and 27 others were injured as a result of floods in different parts of the country over the past month.

The ministry added that floods also destroyed dozens of residential houses, damaged hundreds of acres of agricultural land, and killed hundreds of livestock.

According to the ministry, Farah, Herat, Zabul and Kandahar are among the provinces that suffered the most damage from the floods.

Meanwhile, a number of victims have asked the Islamic Emirate and aid organizations to provide them with urgent assistance.

However, Afghanistan’s State Ministry for Disaster Management said aid has been provided to vulnerable areas.
