The Ministry of Industry and Commerce said exports to India have increased by 25 percent.
A spokesman for the ministry said that more than 30 tons of commercials good have been exported to India from the beginning of year 1401, valued at nearly fourteen billion afghanis worth of trade.
“In the first six months of this year we progressed in our trade and have 30 tons of export to India and earned 14 billion afghani,” said Abdul Salam Javad, a spokesman for the MoCI.
Meanwhile, officials of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment said that most exports to India are fresh fruit and dry fruit.
“For now, we export fresh fruit and dry fruit, like pomegranates and apples,” said Mohammad Younus Momand, acting head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
Most of the commercial goods are exported via Wagga port to India.
Some traders said that to solve problems of traders in ports, especially at Wagga port, Afghanistan must sign contracts with India and Pakistan.
“Afghanistan, India and Pakistan have to sign an agreement for Wagga port to increase exports; so the three countries can work regularly within a framework,” said Mahbobullah Mohammadi, a trader.
According to the numbers of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, 93 thousand tons of Afghanistan’s commercial goods are exported via Wagga port to other countries, especially to India.
