Ex-president Karzai meets UNAMA head in Kabul

Former Afghan president Hamid Karzai in a meeting with Roza Otunbayeva, the UN Secretary General’s special envoy and head of UNAMA for Afghanistan, emphasized the reopening of schools and universities for girls.

The two sides also discussed the United Nations assessment of the situation in Afghanistan and Security Council Resolution 2721,” according to a post published by Karzai’s X page.

In this meeting, Karzai considered national understanding to be necessary for establishing lasting peace and stability in the country and expressed his gratitude for the cooperation of the UN with Afghanistan, especially in the field of education and meeting the needs of Afghans.
