National Security Council (NSC)’s deputy head Sulaiman Kakar on Monday presented his resignation to President Ashraf Ghani.
In his resignation letter, a copy of which has been received by Pajhwok Afghan News, Kakar thanked President Ghani for reposing trust in him.
He said due to some issues and difficulties he could not continue his job. Kakar urged the president to accept his resignation.
A few days back, NSA Mohammad Hanif Atmar stepped down over political differences with the government leader.
Former Ambassador to the United States Hamdullah Mohib was appointed to the top security slot last week.
