Coronavirus cases in Afghanistan jump to nearly 300

Afghanistan’s health ministry has raised the tally of people infected with coronavirus to 299.

A total of 25 new cases were detected in 10 provinces of the country during the past 24 hours.

They were recorded in Kabul (11), Herat (5), Samangan (2), Balkh (1), Kunduz (1), Faryab (1), Ghazni (1), Logar (1), Ghor (1) and Nimroz (1).

The new cases were confirmed out of a total of 152 samples tested in Kabul and Herat laboratories.

Afghanistan’s death toll from coronavirus remains at six. Five have recovered.
