President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said a consultative board will be established regarding peace process in a bid to include the representatives from all provinces of the country in reconciliation process.
He made the remarks during a video teleconference with the religious scholars, peace and women’s councils, government universities, human rights, provincial military and civilian officials of 34 provinces.
The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said President Ghani informed the provincial officials that representatives from each province should be introduced as member of the board once it has been established.
President Ghani further added that the provincial board members would then travel to Kabul and start work with the technical team of the government in reconciliation efforts.
He also added that the consultative board would play a role in the establishment of a team for peace talks and assist with the negotiations process.
According to President Ghani, the consultative board would comprise representatives of political parties, civil society, women, and national figures.
