Commerce Ministry signs MoU with 10 enterprises

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) says it has signed memoranda of understanding with ten organizations to support and develop small and medium enterprises.

The ministry’s spokesman Abdul Salam Jawad Akhundzada said that the issue of women’s empowerment is also considered in these memoranda.

“These projects include various consulting sections, supporting small and medium entrepreneurs, promoting marketing for entrepreneurs, empowering poor women, creating job opportunities, sewing training for girls and widows, developing handicrafts, and creating jobs for women without caretakers,” said Jawad Akhundzada.

He added that these projects will start in Kabul, Samangan, Sar-e- Pul, Herat, Baghlan, Balkh and Badakhshan provinces.

Meanwhile, the Association of Industrialists welcomes the signing of these agreements, saying that small businesses can play a good role in the country’s economy.

Head of Afghanistan Industrialists Association Abdul Jabbar said that small businesses can play an important role in creating jobs for unemployed people in the country.

Economic experts also believe that small investments can provide work for many.

“Experience has shown that the level of small economic interactions in first-world countries has created more job opportunities,” said an economic analyst.

However, the Islamic Emirate has paid more attention to large economic programs in the last two years. Now, it is believed that smaller investments can be a good stimulus in reviving the country’s economy.
