China Reaffirms Support for Afghanistan’s Healthcare

Afghanistan’s Acting Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with Chinese Ambassador Zhao Xing in Kabul to discuss ongoing collaboration in the healthcare sector and strengthening bilateral ties.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Public Health, Minister Jalali emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation between Afghanistan and China.

He urged the Chinese government to support the reconstruction of Kandahar’s Mirwais Regional Hospital, expand healthcare services, and enhance the skills of Afghan medical professionals in traditional medicine, radiology, and disease control.

He also called for increased assistance in providing essential medical supplies, vaccines, and equipment to combat infectious diseases.

Ambassador Zhao reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s healthcare system, pledging continued cooperation in hospital reconstruction, medical training, and strengthening healthcare infrastructure.

The meeting highlights the Islamic Emirate’s ongoing efforts to improve Afghanistan’s healthcare services through international partnerships, with China playing a key role in these initiatives.
