Azerbaijan will establish an embassy in Afghanistan as it was approved by the Azerbaijan parliament on Wednesday, the Afghan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The embassy is opening due to efforts of Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry and the Afghan embassy in Baku, the statement said.
The agenda of Azerbaijan’s parliament session was amended to pave the ground for the approval of a bill providing for the embassy’s creation.
The Azerbaijanian lawmakers debated the bill on the establishment of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Kabul.
The MPs noted Afghanistan’s constant support to Azerbaijan and robust relations between the two countries.
Two weeks ago, the Afghan ambassador to Azerbaijan, Amanullah Jayhoon, while handing over his credentials, emphasized the need to strengthen and expand political relations, and cultural and business ties between Kabul and Baku, which was been welcomed by Azerbaijanian officials, according to the statement.
