A helicopter of the Afghan armed forces has crashed in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan, the local officials said Monday.
Provincial governor’s spokesman confirmed that a helicopter of the Afghan army has crashed in the province late on Sunday afternoon.
The local officials in Kandahar province have not disclosed further information regarding the incident but are saying that an investigation is underway in this regard.
In the meantime, the 205th Atal Corps officials have confirmed that a helicopter of the armed forces has crashed due to technical issues.
According to Atal Corps officials, the incident took place late on Sunday afternoon in Kandahar airfield and as a result at least five army soldiers have sustained injuries.
This comes as incidents involving crash and hard landing of army helicopters has increased during the recent months in various provinces of the country.
An army helicopter crashed in Anar Dara district of Farah province late in October leaving at least 27 dead, including some senior government officials.
