Afghan Acting Minister ‘Mistreated’ By Former MP, Aides

Acting Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, Abdul Hakim Munib, was “mistreated” by former MP Mullah Tarakhil and his aides during Friday prayers at the Presidential Palace mosque, the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs says in a statement.

The statement said that Mr. Munib was “insulted” by the former MP and his aides and they had a verbal clash with him.

Two of the individuals, Shah Wazir and Haji Khan Tarakhil, were former MPs, the statement said.

The statement said the individuals had tried to force the acting minister to accept their demands.

The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs in the statement called on the Presidential Palace to probe the incident.

Mullah Tarakhil and his aides have not commented on this report so far.
