Acting Interior Minister Pledges Good Security for Eid

The acting Minister of Interior, , in a message on the arrival of Eid al Fitr, has pledged there will be good security in the country during the holiday.

Haqqani called on the citizens to cooperate with the security forces to provide security and to refrain from firing guns during the Eid days.

“Refrain from celebrating with gunfire on the arrival of Eid. You should pay serious attention to the worshipers of the Eid prayer and gathering of people,” said Abdul Nafay Takoor, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

Residents of Kabul urged the security departments to make efforts to reduce terrorist activities.

“A security which we have is not 100 percent. We don’t have the security as it is in foreign countries where I have lived,” said Qais Nawabi, a resident of Kabul.

“There should be a lot of attention as it is the holidays of Eid-al Fitr, because some of our people use fireworks,” said Shah Agha, a resident of Kabul.

The military veterans said that the cooperation between the people and security departments is important to improve the security situation in the country.

“The main engagement of the people is with the people and therefore, cooperation with the police is essential. It depends on the police to determine how far it can gain the trust and cooperation of the people,” said Asadullah Nadim, a military veteran.

“We can jointly ensure security in the country. It means police forces jointly with the government and the people,” said Yousuf Ameen Zazai, a military veteran.

This come as the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, in an audio message attributed to him, said that the security has been ensured and that those individuals who are misusing their authority should be kicked out from their commands.
