An Afghan businessman is set to invest $12 million in the extraction of iron mines located in the Paryan district of Panjshir province.
Mawlavi Mohammad Qasim Amiri, the head of Mines and Petroleum in Panjshir, reported the investment to Bakhtar News Agency.
The contract for the project has received approval from the Deputy Prime Minister’s office for Economic Affairs. Amiri emphasized the positive impact this initiative will have on the local economy, stating that it will create approximately 500 employment opportunities for residents.
The investment marks a significant step towards the development of Afghanistan’s mining sector and aims to harness the country’s rich natural resources for economic growth.
