The Ministry of Water and Energy has officially commenced work on two major energy projects valued at over $25 million. A new 189-megavolt substation will be constructed in the Batkhak area of Bagrami district, along with a 220-kilovolt power transmission line connecting Arghandi to this new substation.

At the inauguration ceremony, Acting Minister of Energy and Water, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, highlighted the significance of these projects, stating they are integral to the broader Turkmenistan-Afghanistan 500-kilovolt transmission line initiative.

Minister Mansoor further noted the operational status of three major water dams—Shah and Arous, Kamal Khan, and Omari—since the return of the Islamic Emirate to power. He assured that additional projects, including the Pashdan and Bakhsh Abad dams, are underway and expected to be operational soon.

The Acting Minister urged citizens to support the Islamic Emirate and not to succumb to negative propaganda from adversaries and biased media.

Kabul Governor Mullah Aminullah Obaid remarked on the significant services provided to Kabul residents since the return of the Islamic Emirate. He reported that over the past year, 210 projects have been launched in the province, totaling more than one billion Afghanis, significantly boosting employment opportunities.

Deputy Minister of Information and Culture for Publication Affairs, Muhajer Farahi, reiterated the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to achieving self-sufficiency across various sectors, including energy production, mining, and infrastructure development.

The projects, funded by Aufi Bahram Company and implemented by “GSP,” “MBRCC,” and “Novinsemia,” are expected to create numerous job opportunities and significantly alleviate the electricity shortages faced by Kabul residents, ensuring reliable electricity for residential, commercial, and industrial customers through the new 500 kV line from Turkmenistan.
