Roadside bomb leaves 7 civilians dead

Seven civilians have been killed in a landmine blast that ripped through their vehicle in Deh Yak district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Monday.

Mohammad Arif Noori, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the victims were heading to southeastern Paktika province when their vehicle struck the hidden bomb on the outskirts of the district late on Sunday.

He said seven people, including women and children, were killed in the roadside bombing.

According to Noori, mostly Taliban insurgent plant the landmines in order to target security forces. There has been so far no word from Taliban in this regard.
