In reaction to a report by the monitoring and analysis team of the sanctions committee of the United Nations Security Council about the situation in Afghanistan, the Islamic Emirate in a statement on Sunday called the findings of the report “biased and far from the reality.”

“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan considers the continuation of UN Security Council sanctions and such reports as full of prejudice and in conflict with the principles of independence and non-interference, and calls for an end to it,” the Islamic Emirate spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said in a statement.

The statement added that the accusations in the report are “baseless” and show an “obvious hostility with the people of Afghanistan as well as repetition of the baseless propaganda of the past 20 years.”

Mujahid said the Islamic Emirate is committed to its promises and that there is no threat from Afghanistan to neighboring, regional and world countries.

Analysts said that Islamic Emirate and the UN should solve their problems through an impartial organization.

“The best way for the current government is to reach the conclusion to add more people to the higher government ranks,” said Torek Farhadi, a political affairs analyst.

“Instead of these reports and conflictive allegations, an impartial group should be appointed to know which party has not remained committed to the Doha agreement and after that, the concerns of both sides should be addressed,” said Sadiq Shinwari, a military affairs analyst.

“The current government should take practical steps towards the international community and the mistrust between the two sides will be solved,” said Najib Rahman Shamal, a political affairs analyst.

On Saturday, an annual report by the United Nations Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team for the UN Security Council Committee criticized what it considers the return of the Islamic Emirate to “exclusionary” policies of the late 1990s.
