The governor of eastern Nangarhar province Hayatullah Hayat and National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib have discussed several issues during a meeting, an official said on Sunday.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News both the officials met in NSA office in Kabul on Saturday.
Governor Hayat presented suggestion for addressing the suspension of electricity supply to the province and the cabinet decision on International Islamic University (IIU) and stressed the need for resolving the issues, Khogyani explained.
Hayat said that many factories had been shut down as a result of electricity cut off and faced serious problems after the power cable was cut in the Badpakh area by Taliban insurgents.
Mohib thanked the governor and provincial officials for the conduct of Wolesi Jirga elections in stable environment and assured the governor for addressing the issues in the earliest possible.
NSA promised any kind of cooperation especially in security sector that suggested by the governor Hayat.
Earlier, the governors of Laghman and Nangarhar met the director of the power utility for finding an argent solution to connect power supply to the eastern provinces.
