The coalition force fighting for the past 20 years “has its own” responsibility for the current Afghan situation, said Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of the UN Security Council meeting to be held on Wednesday afternoon in New York.

“We are taking into account the reality and over the past 20 years, before that over the past 40 years, great powers couldn’t solve the situation in Afghanistan.” Kamilov said.

“And now, some countries suggest that we get money and receive thousands and thousands refugees What is that? We cannot understand. And one thing that I said the military coalition which was fighting over the past 20 years has its own responsibility for the situation right now in Afghanistan,” he added.

Kamilov said that the Islamic Emirate was currently the major power in Afghanistan and that the “Taliban” had not carried out any “terrorist attacks” beyond Afghanistan.

“I understand very well how it is not so easy to break psychological barriers. Why? Because the coalition was fighting over the past 20 years against these Taliban. But at the same time, please take a look at the situation from the other corner. Taliban, this is the major power in Afghanistan right now. Taliban, they are a part of Afghan society,” he said. “ TheTaliban have never organized terrorist attacks beyond national borders. You cannot give me any example of terrorists attack organized by the Taliban in Central Asia, in Europe, in the United States or in South Asia, or somewhere.”

The head of UK forces, Gen. Nick Carter, earlier urged his country to engage with the “Taliban” to help the allies who worked with the British mission in Afghanistan and to provide humanitarian support to the people in Afghanistan.

However, Michael McCaul, a Republican member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs said that the “Taliban” still remained linked with al-Qaeda.

According to McCaul, it was not a good idea to recognize the current government of Afghanistan.

The political analysts give different opinions regarding the Uzbek foreign minister’s remarks.

“We will soon see that around 15 to 20 world countries including the Central Asian countries, China and Russia will recognize the Afghan government,” said Ihsanullah Hekmat, a university instructor.

“There is no other option. The international community is obliged to recognize the Islamic Emirate sooner or later,” said Abdul Jamil Shirani.
